Free Money Making Ideas

While I have personally made money with some of these ideas, none of them has worked as well as "Tim's SweetMoneySecrets." I highly recommend you purchase the book that includes the "Parents Guide to SweetMoneySecrets" if you are serious about making money.

Idea 1: "Instant Money" You can make instant money if you are in the right place at the right time (and have your parent's help.)  I went to the thrift store and saw a "Grand Turismo 3 Racing Wheel for PS2" for $5.00 (used without a box but in good shape). I saw this same one the day before at the store new for $39.99. The local pawn shop usually pays about 50% of new value for used stuff.  I asked my Dad if he would sell it to the pawn shop for me if I paid him $5.  He said sure so I bought the Wheel for $5 at the thrift store.  I took it to the pawn shop with my Dad and they gave him $20 on the spot! (I had to pay my Dad $5 for his help but I still made $10!)  I use this money making idea whenever I can but these kind of deals don't come along that often. You have to know what the "market value" of an item is and recognize a "steal" when you see one.  You also have to know what the pawn shop is buying. Sometimes they buy video game stuff and sometimes they don't (when they have too much already.)  You also have to have an adult to sell the item at the pawn shop (they won't buy from kids.)  I also look for items to buy at garage sales (in the spring and summer) that I can buy cheap and sell for more at the pawn shop.  The nice thing about this idea is that if the pawn shop does buy it you get cash on the spot instantly!

Idea 2: "Mail Retrieving" You can get paid to get your neighbors mail while they're on vacation.  You must be trustworthy and know your neighbors. You can get from .50 to $1.50 a day.  For a 2 week vacation that's up to $21 for a quick trip to the mailbox.

Idea 3: "Pet Sitter" I have only done this as a fill-in for my brother.  He takes care of the neighbors cats (3 of them) when they go on vacation. He gets $5 a day to go there once in the morning and once in the afternoon.  This can be a great money maker once you get started. My brother did it for one neighbor and they recommended him to another neighbor.  Now he has 3 neighbors that pay him to "pet sit."
